Let's cut to the chase. Hustling, working hard, and getting the work done is absolutely key for running a successful business.
There's no denying that over here!
But what no one really talks about is this:
Sometimes, when we are absolutely overworked, burnt out, and stressed out....our work is done subpar.
Our days start running together, we forget to eat, and meetings get mixed up or missed.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg!
Burn out is real and self-care is so important.
My biggest lesson in my business is to truly understand the difference between needing a break and being lazy.
Because y'all...there's a big ole difference!
And we are smart enough to know that difference.
As a self-admitted perfectionist, I have many times beat myself up for not working ALL the time.
For catching an episode of a TV show.
For slowing down and enjoying time with the people and things that matter most to me.
Because how the hell am I going to be successful if I'm not doing ALL the things?!
And it's just a bunch of baloney.
I truly believe we misunderstand thought leaders like Gary Vee when he talks about "hustle."
I absolutely think he's brilliant and right in this case! But are we missing what he's really saying?
